The year is 1967 and I was 9, my brother Robert 12.
In the picture is dad, Arthur, me, Rob and mum Dorothy. The missing fifth picnic member is my grandad, Jack Edwards (John Edward Edwards). In those days he had a polaroid Land camera, state of the art. Seconds after taking this picture he would have had the photo, held between two aluminium (because it was England) plates, developing for thirty seconds.
Actually, it probably was not England, more than likely we where in Wales, near Ruthin.
The fine vehicle in the background was Arthurs pride and enjoy and perhaps the first new car he had ever owned. A Vauxhall Victor estate.
